Ruggero Alberto Calo' - Chiropodist in Poole
Ruggero Alberto Calo’ graduated from The University of Southampton with a BSc Honours Degree in Podiatric Medicine.
Ruggero is registered as a Podiatrist with the ‘Health Professions Council’ and is a member of The Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists (SOCAP). He has worked within both the NHS and the private sector.
Professionally he has an interest in human biomechanics and the lower limb. He has attended post-graduate courses in biomechanics, including the use of sophisticated gait scan technology in diagnosis, predicting foot pathology and prevention of injury through exercise and orthotic prescription.
Ruggero understands that the human foot is an incredibly complex structure of natural engineering and that no two feet are exactly the same. For this reason, it may be advisable to have our feet routinely assessed to ensure the supporting structure of our body is working to perform at its best. With a history as an amateur athlete he understands the importance of good foot function.
Research shows that abnormalities in foot structure and function may lead to musculoskeletal problems in the body including poor posture, discomfort, pain, and deformity. Addressing foot function may reduce problems occurring to the foot, ankle and musculoskeletal system.
