Kate graduated from Cardiff University in 2012 with an Honours degree in Physiotherapy. Upon graduation Kate started working with Cardiff City Football Club and the Welsh Football Association. Her role involved working with all of the academy players for acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
Kate is qualified in sports trauma management and she was able to utilise these skills whilst working pitch side during academy matches and training. This role further enhanced Kate’s skills in assessing and treating acute injuries under pressure.
Kate has also worked in a variety of other sports including the Senior Men and Women’s Welsh Hockey teams providing cover for international matches against South Africa, England, Ireland and Scotland.
In 2014 Kate moved back to her home town in Bournemouth where she began work as Head Physiotherapist at LeAF Academy. Her role involved working with elite athletes primarily in volleyball, badminton and football, using her experience to design sports specific rehabilitation programs along with conducting movement dysfunction screenings helping prevent future injuries.
Currently Kate is working part time at AFC Bournemouth Academy and is lecturing in functional anatomy Bournemouth University.
Drawing skills from her various positions, Kate has adopted a holistic approach to treating patients, using a variety of manual therapy and massage techniques to supplement her exercise rehab skills.
