Hypnotherapy – Questions and Answers Part 1

Here are some of the common questions asked about Hypnotherapy.

Q. My concern is I am not in control whilst in hypnotherapy, so do I lose control?

Absolutely not, you are always in control. The general consensus is that regardless of how deeply you may go in hypnosis or how submissive you may feel, you are actually in full control of the situation, so if you wished to talk or move or even get up and leave the room you could.

Q. Stage hypnosis makes it look like you are not in control?

The thing with stage hypnosis, it is exactly that, there to entertain you, what you don’t see is the beginning where people volunteer themselves to the stage and that they actually give their full permission to perform all manner of acts to the hypnotist, prior to the event, they know exactly what they are letting themselves in for!

Q. Can anyone be hypnotised?

Yes, is the direct answer , you do this naturally on a day to day basis, called day dreaming, this is a light state of trance. An experienced hypnotherapist increases your state of trance through gauging different brain wave activity; however the most success comes from you, being open and willing… If you didn’t want to be hypnotised then it would not happen.
