Dr Robert Stevens - GP & Men's Health Practitioner

Dr Stevens attended Sheffield Medical School where he became a Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery in 1997. He completed the Vocational Training Scheme in Derby where he qualified as a General Practitioner in 2005.

He passed the Membership of Royal College of General Practitioners examination in 2010. After setting up a brand new Walk In Centre & GP Practice in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, he spent a couple of years working as Ship Doctor for Cunard and P&O, where he was awarded the Outstanding Performance Award for his contribution to crew health and welfare.

Whilst providing Urgent Care for South West Ambulance Service Trust, he qualified as a REPS 3 Personal Trainer in 2013 to gain a wider understanding of the fitness industry so he could utilise this in his medical practice. This has fuelled his passion for disease prevention rather than cure, and to develop his company www.preventativehealthdoctors.co.uk.

The aim of their first project is to increase awareness of men’s health issues through education and support, adopting a holistic approach to health; that encompasses lifestyle, nutrition, exercise and medicine to allow people to lead a productive and active life.
